Shane is native to Wyoming, having lived in Powell for most of his life. He and his wife Tara have five kids, now grown, and five grandkids. They are both sinners saved by the grace of God and nothing more.
Shane has walked with Christ since 1990. He has worked in construction and manufacturing. He also served for over a decade as an Arabic linguist and intelligence analyst with the military. Having seen a good deal of the world and experiencing some good and bad, the Lord made it clear that He’d called Shane to be a pastor to his own people and sent him back to his hometown.
He has been the lead pastor at what is now Powell Church of God since 2014. He also serves as the Administrator at the Powell Christian School. He is a student of theology, preaching, history, and literature. All that aside, Shane simply desires the glory of God and the expansion of His kingdom in this broken world and works, with the help of God, to that end.
Associate Pastor Susan
Susan Legler is married to Fritz Legler. They have three grown children, eight grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. As an RN (Registered Nurse), Susan served in acute care and hospice from 1988 to 1998 in Park County, Wyoming. She also owned and administrated a successful home health business from 1990 to 1996.
Susan answered God’s call into ministry service and was ordained in 2003. Since then, she has been providing pastoral care full time in Park County. She has served as the Senior Pastor of Living Hope Community Church and has been providing pastoral counseling as the Associate Pastor of Powell Church of God since 2021.
